Free Consultation
This complimentary 15-minute consultation offers an opportunity to connect, ask questions, and explore whether our services feel like the right fit for your needs.
Together, we’ll briefly discuss what brings you to therapy and what you’re hoping for from support. This is not a counselling session, but rather a space to learn about our approach, ask logistical questions, and see if we’re a good match - with absolutely no pressure to book or commit.
Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB)
Little Lights Therapy Company is an approved provider through the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) Program, offering mental health counselling for eligible First Nations and Inuit clients at no cost.
Every calendar year, an eligible client (Status Card required) can receive up to 22 hours of counselling provided by an approved therapist on a fee-for-service basis — including individual or group counselling. Additional hours may be approved on a case-by-case basis when further support is needed.
Sessions provide a safe, supportive, and culturally grounded space for healing - whether you’re seeking help for stress, grief, trauma, identity, relationships, or life transitions. Therapy may include talk-based, creative, and facilitated support in connecting with traditional approaches alongside Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and Helpers, depending on your comfort and needs.
We honour each person’s story and healing journey, recognizing the strength, wisdom, and resilience within Indigenous communities and families.
NIHB Counselling is provided by Ashley and Ericka, both Registered Social Workers (RSWs), using trauma-informed, relational, and culturally safe approaches.
Therapy for Children (4-11)
Therapy for children and youth at Little Lights is rooted in connection, safety, and creativity. Sessions are designed to meet each young person where they’re at - blending play, art, movement, storytelling, and conversation in ways that feel natural and engaging.
Our work focuses on helping children and teens understand their feelings, build emotional regulation skills, strengthen self-esteem, and develop healthy relationships. Together, we explore tools for managing worries, big emotions, changes, or challenges at home and school, while also celebrating strengths and resilience.
Parents and caregivers are valued partners in the process. We offer space for check-ins, collaboration, and shared learning so support can continue beyond the therapy room.
Counselling and psychotherapy services are provided by Registered Social Workers (RSWs) and Registered Psychotherapists (RPs), using trauma-informed, culturally grounded, and developmentally appropriate approaches.
Therapy for Tweens and Teens (12-17)
The tween and teen years can be full of change - balancing friendships, identity, school pressures, emotions, and the growing need for independence. Therapy offers a steady space to unpack it all with support, understanding, and care.
Sessions are collaborative and creative, using conversation, reflection, art, journaling, and mindfulness-based strategies to help young people make sense of their experiences. Together, we explore coping tools, boundaries, emotional regulation, and confidence, while honoring the values, culture, and story that shape who they are.
Parents and caregivers are included in the process in ways that respect privacy, trust, and the youth’s voice. Our goal is to build skills, insight, and self-compassion - helping each young person feel more grounded, capable, and connected in their daily life.
Counselling and psychotherapy services are provided by Registered Social Workers (RSWs) and Registered Psychotherapists (RPs), using trauma-informed, relational, and culturally safe approaches.
Therapy for Young Adults (18-30)
The transition into adulthood brings both possibility and pressure - new responsibilities, relationships, and questions about identity and direction. Therapy offers a place to slow down, make sense of what’s unfolding, and reconnect with your own clarity and strength.
Sessions support young adults navigating stress, anxiety, burnout, self-esteem, boundaries, life transitions, and relationship dynamics. Together, we explore patterns, emotions, and practical tools to help you feel more grounded and aligned with who you are and who you’re becoming.
Whether you’re moving through change, healing from past experiences, or simply wanting to grow in self-awareness, this space is meant to meet you where you are - with warmth, understanding curiosity, and no judgment.
Counselling and psychotherapy services are provided by Registered Social Workers (RSWs) and Registered Psychotherapists (RPs), using trauma-informed, relational, and culturally responsive approaches.
Caregiver Support Sessions
Supporting a child or teen through life’s ups and downs can be deeply rewarding, and also incredibly hard at times. These sessions offer caregivers a safe, nonjudgmental space to pause, reflect, and gather tools to better understand and support their child, while also caring for themselves.
Together, we explore strategies for communication, co-regulation, boundaries, and emotional connection, with an emphasis on strengthening relationships and building confidence in your role as a parent or caregiver. Sessions may include guidance on responding to behaviours, nurturing emotional safety at home, and understanding your child’s needs through a trauma-informed and attachment-based lens.
These sessions are not about “fixing” your child - they’re about helping you feel more supported, grounded, and empowered as you walk alongside them.
Counselling and psychotherapy services are provided by Registered Social Workers (RSWs) and Registered Psychotherapists (RPs), using relational, culturally grounded, and strength-based approaches.
Therapy for Adults
For the ones doing their best to hold it all - careers, relationships, families, responsibilities, and the quiet ache that sometimes sits beneath it. This space is one where you can slow down, untangle what’s heavy, and reconnect with yourself beneath all the noise.
Sessions may focus on stress, burnout, anxiety, grief, identity, trauma, boundaries, or simply the desire to feel more grounded and whole. Together, we explore the stories, patterns, and emotions that shape your world, while nurturing compassion and steadiness within it.
At Little Lights, we believe that when adults heal, it ripples outward - into our homes, our relationships, and our communities. Every bit of light we tend within ourselves touches those around us.
Counselling and psychotherapy services are provided by Registered Social Workers (RSWs) and Registered Psychotherapists (RPs) who are trauma-informed and committed to helping adults reconnect with themselves, find balance, and create meaningful change.
Therapy for Couples
Every relationship holds moments of closeness and moments of disconnection. Couples counselling offers a compassionate space to slow down, listen differently, and rediscover the thread that brought you together.
Sessions support partners in exploring communication patterns, unmet needs, boundaries, conflict cycles, trust, and emotional intimacy. Whether you’re navigating ongoing tension, life transitions, or simply wanting to strengthen your bond, therapy offers tools and insights to help you reconnect in meaningful ways.
At Little Lights, we recognize that the health of partnerships deeply influences the well-being of our children, families, and communities. Healing within our relationships naturally trickles down - shaping how our young people feel, grow, and connect.
Couples Counselling is provided by Sarah Pyzer, Registered Psychotherapist (RP), using trauma-informed, attachment-based, and emotionally focused approaches.
